Home of the Happy Vegetables
We are 100% committed to growing food without synthetic pesticides, fungicides, herbicides, or fertilizers. We really depend on the natural bug-eat-bug cycles of nature and go to great efforts to preserve the ladybugs and other beneficial insects.
Our soils are fed massive, carbon-rich cover crops and composts, which creates a home for many happy families of earthworms and other soil life.
Our goal is to keep the ladybugs and earthworms happy, which results in, you guessed it …
HAPPY VEGETABLES!
Fresh, Local Vegetables, Berries, Melons, and Herbs lovingly nurtured on the Reuben and Andrew Habegger Family Farm!
Free of all synthetic chemicals! Organic seeds. No GMOs.

We plan to plant lettuce and greens for every week, but we cannot promise that every week we will have them. We are again planting an expanded variety of Herbs. We trialed a new Cauliflower last year, called Song; it is a non-bitter variety and we loved it. We are planting that as well as a new one, called Cauliflower Baby, that is eaten with the greens. We should have cauliflower baby on week one. A new pepper on the list is a Shishito Pepper that is becoming popular. The following chart approximates what varieties may be expected week by week. This Anticipated Harvest is flexible and is only an estimate.
Our harvest will begin mid April or early May and continue for 28 consecutive weeks. Regular Shares consist each week of a wide variety pre-packed into half bushel boxes plus extras on the side. Half Shares Pick Up every-other-week for a total of 14 weeks.

"I have been a member of Eco-Gardens CSA for many years. My family and I LOVE participating for many reasons. We enjoy getting quality organic produce at MUCH more affordable prices than Whole Foods or traditional grocery stores, plus we feel we are helping the planet by supporting local organic farming. Another benefit is that we have had the chance to try some new vegetables and fruits we normally don't buy. There is an educational benefit as well. My children are learning about where food comes from and have enjoyed visiting the farm where our produce is grown. We have found the founder of Eco-Gardens CSA to be an honest and generous man who truly cares about what he does. He writes a weekly newsletter and we have enjoyed hearing bits and pieces about farm life and his family. We feel blessed to be a part of this mutually beneficial organization." - Wendy Behr (CSA Member)
